ready

Opening Prayer: Help us, O Lord, to be ready for your coming; whoever, wherever, and whenever that may be.  Amen.

Scripture: Luke 12:35-40

          ready

stay on your toes

sit on the edge of your seat

keep your lamp burning

keep an eye on the horizon

keep your ears open

for the knock at the door

live in a state

of perpetual readiness

for advent has begun
