belonging

Opening Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you that I belong to you, and that your desire is for me.  Although it is hard for me to believe at times, that does not change the fact that it is true.  Thanks be to God!  Amen.

Scripture: Song of Songs 7:10

Journal: How does the desire for belonging take shape in your life?  What would it mean to have your need for belonging fully met in Jesus?

Reflection: It is crazy how much time and energy and effort I expend trying to belong, when all of the belonging I could ever hope for—and more—is already mine in Jesus.  It is like I am working and working, trying to achieve something that I have already been given.

Closing Prayer: Forgive me, O Lord, when I run to the world to get something that only you can give me.  Thank you that I belong to you.
