Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:16
Journal: Is the life of God renewing itself within you day by day? If so, what does that look like? What has been the fruit of that
renewal? And if it has not been renewing
itself in you, why not?
Reflection:
Is the life of God renewing itself within you
day by day? Or is the daily grind taking
its toll on your heart and soul? Have
you gotten so used to doing the same old things in the same old ways
over and over again that all of the life has been completely sucked out of
you? Have you gotten into such a rut,
such a dull routine, that life is on autopilot?
If so, you need to know that this is a dangerous place to be. God wants so much more for you than that;
more life, more quality, more joy. Don’t
settle for less. Don’t settle
for less than what he created you for—life.
He longs for you to live a life in which he is ever-renewing you within;
a life of ever-increasing depth and quality.
It doesn’t mean that you won’t be doing the same old things over and
over again, but it does mean that you will not be doing them exactly the same
way, because you will be a new and different person (at least a little bit)
each time you do them. Let God renew you from within today.
Prayer
Closing
Prayer: O God, bring me to life inside. Renew your life within me, minute by minute,
day by day, that I would live with the depth and the quality and the energy
that you long for me to live with.
Through Christ. Amen.
