Opening Prayer: Forgive us, O God, when we get occupied with the wrong things.  When we get swept up in the commotion of the season and the culture, and forget that the universe does not revolve around us, but we revolve around you.  Amen.

Scripture: Luke 12:13-21

Journal: What occupies most of your time and attention these days?  What are you “storing up?”  What would it look like to be occupied by the things of God?  How do you need to bo on your guard during this season?

watch out

be on your guard

don’t get caught up

in doing your own thing

in building your own barns

it is so easy to do

especially

during this season

instead

always remember

that this life

is not about you

but about Me.

Prayer

Closing Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us to be on our guards against the tendency to work and toil for things that don’t last, and thus to miss completely the One that does.  Amen.
