Opening Prayer: My God, I wish to give
myself to thee. Give me the courage to
do so. ~Francois Fenelon
Scripture: Philippians 3:7-12
Journal: What words in this passage inspire you? What words encourage you? What words disturb you? What words challenge you? What would it look like to give yourself
completely to God?
Reflection:
The very credentials these people are waving
around as something special, I’m tearing up and throwing out with the
trash—along with everything else I used to take credit for. And why? Because of
Christ. Yes, all the things I once thought were so important are gone from my
life. Compared to the high privilege of knowing Christ Jesus as my Master,
firsthand, everything I once thought I had going for me is insignificant—dog
dung. I’ve dumped it all in the trash so that I could embrace Christ and be
embraced by him. ~The Message
Prayers
Closing Prayer: One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I
seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to
gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me
safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. ~Psalm 27:4-5
