Opening Prayer: O Lord Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!
Scripture: Mark 10:46-52
Journal: What do you want me to do for you?
Reflection:
A possibility I would like to suggest is this: live
with the questions the Lord asks. Take
up a Bible and open to the Gospels. Look
for the questions Jesus asks of us: Who do you say that I am? What do you want? Are you not worth more than many
sparrows? Why do you not believe? Living with these, one after the other—and
there are many in the Gospels—can bring us to wholly other, much richer
perspective on our lives, maybe to seeing our lives the way God sees them, shot
through with light, the joy, the fullness of the risen life of Christ. (Living
in the Question by M. Basil Pennington)
Prayers
Closing Prayer: Look upon us, O Lord, and let all the darkness
of our souls vanish before the beams of thy brightness. Fill us with holy love, and open to us the
treasures of thy wisdom. All our desire
is known unto thee, therefore perfect what thou hast begun, and what thy Spirit
has awakened us to ask in prayer. We
seek thy face, turn thy face unto us and show us thy glory. Then shall our longing be satisfied, and our
peace shall be perfect. ~St. Augustine
