Opening Prayer: Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm 25:4-5)
Scripture: John 14:1-10
Journal: What does it mean to you that Jesus is the way? How is he being the way for you right now? How is life with him the way, in and of itself?
Reflection: Could it be that the way is not as much about reaching a particular destination, as it is about entering into a certain way of being? Could it be that it is not as much about where (or what), as it is about who? Could it be that it's not as much about geography, as it is about relationship? Could it be that we miss the way, as Thomas and Philip did, because we are looking for a place, when we should be looking for a person?
“Show us the way, O Lord,” we pray.
And Jesus answers, “I already did show you. I am the way.
Live your life in me—whatever you do and wherever you go—and you will already
have arrived at your destination.”
Prayer
Closing Prayer: Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are the way, the truth, and the life—here and now. Help me to live my life in you this day. Amen.
