Scripture: John 13:36-38
Journal: “Will you really lay down your life for me?”
Reflection:
will you really
will you really
lay down your life
for me
will you really
lay aside
all privilege
and power
and preference
will you really
place yourself
totally and unreservedly
in my hands
will you really
empty yourself
of self
that you might
be full of me
will you really
surrender all
that you have
and all
that you are
to my rule
and my care
will you really
lay down your life
for me
will you really
lay aside
all privilege
and power
and preference
will you really
place yourself
totally and unreservedly
in my hands
will you really
empty yourself
of self
that you might
be full of me
will you really
surrender all
that you have
and all
that you are
to my rule
and my care
will you really
Prayer
Closing
Prayer: Father, I abandon myself into your hands; do
with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you. I am ready for all, I accept all. Let only your will be done in me, and in all your creatures. I wish no more than this, O Lord. Into your hands I commend my spirit; I offer it to you with all the love of my heart, for I do love you, Lord, and so need to give myself, to surrender myself into your hands, without reserve, and with boundless confidence, for you are my Father. Amen. ~Charles de Foucauld
